The room was clean and spacious but perhaps just a little dated (shag pile carpet). We did have an amazing meal there and for that alone it is worth staying there. It wasn't cheap (the meal) but it was very memorable. Massive wine list. The setting is tranquil on a lake. The English owner could have had a little more 'sparkle' but guess she is just very busy and matter of fact. Late check out of 12.00 was a bonus for us. Overall, good value and we enjoyed being there.
See above.. I need to read the instructions more fully in future!

We had a superb room with an excellent new bath and shower room. There were tea and coffee facilities and complimentary home-made liquer. Our evening meal was delicious and the owners helpful and friendly. We shall certainly return.

Good sized bed in the double room. Perfect countryside location. - Very close to restaurant, local jams, and a great lake. - In a beautiful forest area. By retaining these elements from the original review, I've highlighted the positive aspects of Les Etangs De Guibert in Neufchatel-en-Saosnois.

Wonderful, peaceful location with terrace overlooking the lake.Room spotless and good bathroom.Unlike other guests we found it well sign posted and easy to find. Set menu very good value and absolutely delicious - traditional French with a modern twist. Wines for all palates/occasions.
Nobody to check us in on arrival after 6pm. Restaurant staff apparently not trained up. Our request to eat on the terrace not welcomed initially but by the end of the evening - which was very warm - we had been joined by many other guests!

Friendly welcoming reception and attentive yet unobtrusive staff. Quirky and well furnished rooms. Excellent location and good food.
Shower would not provide hot/warm water.

very nice sourroundings
The room was nice and newly redone, but unfortunately the cleaning person did not only oversee empty plastic glasses of red wine under the bed, the plastic wrap of some cookies and the hair of someone else in the shower. Besides Smelling candels are not for everyones taste.

A charming, rustic hotel in a tranquil setting with a beautiful view of the adjacent lake. The spacious room had ancient wooden beams and a well-appointed bathroom. Our puppy was allowed to stay in the room with us. The car park had ample space for all guests. The dinner at the restaurant was pleasant, and the hotel offered outstanding value for the price of the room. a gem of a hotel that is worth a detour.
